I created this artwork because I wanted to show how everyone in our community has a role to play in protecting our most precious resource. I made this piece by hand on paper, using a combination of pens for the fine details and markers and colored pencils to bring out the bright, vibrant colors of our California coast. The message of my work is "Respect Water." I wanted to illustrate that being "Waterwise" isn't just one big action, but a lot of small everyday choices. In my drawing, I included many different ways we can save water in California, like using a rain barrel to collect runoff, choosing drought-tolerant succulents for our gardens, using a bucket instead of a hose to wash cards, and even timing our showers with a stopwatch. This work reflects the specific water issues we face in California by showing the two possible futures we have. On one side I drew the beautiful ocean, local piers, and healthy wildlife that thrive when we manage our water well. In the bottom right corner, I drew a "dry" section with cracked earth and a skull to represent the reality of drought and what happens when we neglect our environment. I also included a scientist to show that it takes both science and community effort to keep our water clean and available.

I was inspired to draw this because I wanted to make people realize that the ocean is full of curiosity & beauty. I hope that this would help people realize how they're harming the water & they should start to focus on protecting the water. The ripped parts represent the harm we have done to the water and the buttons and strings represent the ecosystem trying to repair the ocean but is too much to repair fully. The shell with the girl shows the protection of the sea. The girl represents the future generation of the ocean & the coral she's holding represents the life of the ocean. The light of stars, little spirits tells the story about how lively, colorful , of life of the ocean. The 2 fish represent the living creatures in the ocean, meanwhile the skeleton fish represents the wastes in the sea.

This artwork is all about water conservation. At the top, the water bottle at the top symbolizes how we have a limited fresh water source. The lush green mountains show how water creates life as we know it. Without water, everything would be bare, and wouldn't be alive. The water wheel powering the city shows that water doesn't just power our bodies, it can power our infrastructure. The flying fish at the bottom displays how so many sea creatures rely on water to be clean and plentiful.

My piece shows a healthy Earth in the shape of a heart and its reflection; a dry, dying Earth with no water. This represents our world today, and a possible outcome if we continue taking water for granted. You can see that where the water in the background makes slight contact with the dried-out heart, there is a little green. This shows that even a little water can make a difference, and that every drop counts. To create my drawing, I used sharpies, markers, and white-out for a little shading. the overall message of my artwork is that if we continue to save water, we can remain on a lush, thriving Earth.

To make my art I used markers and a pencil. My art is showing what will happen if we don't conserve water and pollute it. The hand represents my hand and how I want to make impact, my dent in water conservation and pollution, and how the world is in our hands and we need to take care of it. The faucet represents how water can just run through our fingers, but we can try our best to speak to the community and work hard and take care of our beautiful Earth.

For this art piece, I used water color and alcohol markers. It's about a turtle swimming around, very disturbed about all the trash and pollution. We can save the ocean by using reusable items and by throwing away our trash when we are done.

A girl caring for our water by holding it tight and following the right path. The other side shows without water everything becomes dry. Nature suffers if we don't protect it. We can turn off water when not using it. We need to all be like this girl and love and care for our water supply.

My piece was made with all colored pencils. It shows all the horrible trash and litter in our oceans with an octopus in a jar, and a turtle with a piece of net over its head. Once, I went to a beach, and there was trash everywhere, and netting similar to the one shown in my art. I thought of how the animals in the water would be affected by it, and that is what I tried to recreate. It is all so awful, so I added a girl cleaning up the litter on the sand. The trashcan shows that people have the option to throw away their trash, but as you can see, they chose not to. I hope that if everyone can work together, we can make a difference in our oceans to make it a safe and beautiful place for all the sea life living there.

My drawing is about the future when people clean up trash, it will be good for plants, trees and animals. But if you don't clean then animals that are in the ocean or land could be bad for them This is the same with plants. This drawing is also about fish and other animals healthy and not sick. This drawing is also about the plants being healthy not brown or unhealthy. It's like the animals, healthy and not sick. People should also recycle so we can drink clean water too. People should not drop trash even if its not close to the water because the wind can blow it in the ocean.

People don't always think about what they don't see and things get even more confusing when what we see isn't actually what's happening. Here's a (not so) fun fact: sunsets are actually made pretty from some chemicals in the air that aren't supposed to be there. And since everything is connected pretty skies could mean polluted waters. The title of my picture is "<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Under the Surface</span>." I named it that after a song in my favorite move called Encanto. I want people to think about what we don't see. Not everything is what it seems. We have to remember to look under the surface.

I created my artwork by using colored pencils and pastels to add varying levels of brightness to certain aspects of my creation. My artwork portrays a dead, dry landscape with a few droplets of water dripping from a faucet. When you view this world through through the droplets, the world comes alive. You are surrounded by bright colors and different plant and animal life. There is a stream feeding into a lake, birds, trees, and flowers. All of these beauties rely on water. Without water there is nothing. I am addressing our drought in California. If we keep wasting water, our environment will look very similar to the background of my drawing. All life will have perished. But if we save water, not only California, but the whole world will look much like the one I created through the droplets. Save water, so we can live in a world of color and life.

I made this art using pencil, colored pencil, and sharpie. My art shows the importance of clean water. In the first part, there is no water, everything is dry and nothing can lie. In the second part, the water is polluted and living things are dying. In the third part, there is healthy water and all things are growing and thriving. Save the water!

I made this art with Sharpies, Crayons, a pencil, and colored pencils and it represents the ocean getting polluted by people throwing their trash into it and only one person cares. We only have one Earth take care of it.

I made this piece of art using crayola crayons, a pencil, a white and yellow crayola colored pencils, and an assort of markers from acohol markers to crayola markers. This art piece shows to not throw waste into the ocean. As my turtle swims through one dirty and clean ocean. The ocean without trash has a fish and clean water. The dirty ocean has brown muddy water with a can, plastic can rack, etc.

<p>Otters are playful and adorable, but if water isn't saved, then these otters will slowly disappear. This art I created depicts an otter swimming alongside some fish, enjoying its precious life. Its life should be protected, but to do that, you must protect water, too. And it's not just otters. It's animals, plants, and our planet. </p>

<p>In my art piece you could see two unusual things or two things that stand out. The alien & the planet on fire while get drenched with water. As you could see the body of alien has water in their body like how a human has 60% of water so does this alien. While drinking more water and their heart & lungs floating up. This is supposed to represent that we need to be drinking water daily and the 60% of water that a humanoid has. The alien is holding a watering can while pouring the burning earth. The earth doesn't look as youthful without the water but with water it looks beautiful. This is to represent that the earth is literally burning and how we are in a drought. The background is when rain hits the floor it creates a ripple and that was the look I was trying to achieve. The moral of this art piece is that even outside of earth water is very important and that we should be care for the earth. The materials that I used are: pen, water color pencils, color pencils, water pain, oil pastels, and most importantly with love and water.</p>

<p>"Life's Sustenance" is about the process of water conservation and the effects of wasting water, created using dual-tip brush pens on sketchbook paper. Included in this piece is a water sprinkler, giving life to the grass and flowers around it, and a hose. The water aimed at the word "conserve" collects into the words below, conserving the water for later recycling. This shows how the water we use is limited but can be reused to reduce wasting water. The run off water, originating from the water sprinkler, is not conserved. It collects into a river but quickly dries up, and doesn't reach the dead tree that needs the water. This shows how if we are careless with how we use our water, it can quickly run out, drying out the plants that require this sustenance and negatively affecting the environment around us.</p>

<p>My painting Rainfall was made with water colors. First I sketched it out then painted it in. The message my artwork portrays is how much hard work we put into gardening and making the world look beautiful and how hard it truly is. My painting shows how gently the use of water is and that even a little can help a lot. The painting I made is of Mother Nature helping the flowers, trees, and grass grow colorful and healthy in doing so she has to help at all cost, and work really hard.</p>

<p>It is a human eye witnessing future and present. I had a skill for drawing eyes so I got inspired by many arts and my skills.</p>

<p>There are so many ways to save water. You can turn off water while brushing your teeth and, you can turn it back on by using less water. Also, you can take shorter showers by installing water saving shower heads or flow restrictors. If you wash dishes by hand, don't leave the water running for rinsing. You can also save water by keeping a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator so this puts a stop to the wastefulness running tap water to cool it for drinking. Always remember to check the faucets and the pipes for leaks so it doesn't waste water. Also, please water early in the morning or late at night so that water doesn't evaporate in the heat of the day before it can reach the roots.</p>

<p>The more trash we polute the ocean the more of the risk there will be for all the animals in the sea to die.</p>

<p>This art work shows half of the world without water and the other half with water. The half with water is happy and thriving because we have enough water. The other half shows the world without water. The world would be dry and there would be no trees and no happiness. That is what this art work describes. </p>

<p>My piece of artwork represents what the ocean would look like when it's nice and what it would look like if it was all polluted. One side is a fish and a shark that are happy because their ocean is clean. The other side demonstrates a sad fish and a sad shark, that are very unhappy because their ocean is filled with trash and plastic. At the top of my drawing, there is a water drop named Drip who is telling people that they should make sure to keep our ocean clean because not only does it affect us it also affects the ocean life. The whole point of my artwork is to show that if we don't keep the ocean life clean it will affect the sea animals. I want to help the ocean life and I want to make sure our water stays clean. That is my piece of artwork.</p>

<p>For my piece I used water color, colored pencils and markers. My project portrays how important it is to not waste but save water. I am trying to get the viewer to realize how much water can do to the earth. The art shows why to save water. Another thing I'm trying to show is you should always reuse water. A few years ago some of my friends told me how bad it is to waste. Ever since then I've always told family and friends. My picture shows an alien saving water in a bucket. On the other hand theres a tap that hasn't been turned off and it is going to waste. My message is "Save our Planet, Save Water."</p>

<p>I used pencil, sharpie, and colored pencils to create my artwork. My artwork portrays how if you're wasteful with water a whole city can be taken over with a drought. I showed this by drawing a city, by using the cracked ground of the drought to make the tops of the buildings. I am trying to make the viewer realize how important it is to save water. Some ways to preserve water is to take short showers, don't leave the faucet running, and when you get home from school and you have barely drank any water from your water bottle poor it into plants in your backyard. This compation made me more interested in art and it made me realize how important water is to our planet and people. </p>

<p>This piece shows what California may become if we keep wasting water. The hands on the right are pouring out water and the land is instantly transforming into a lush green scene with the animals enjoying themselves. The other side is dry, with cracks in the earth and a human made fire. The fire is currently burning a tree. The stream part of "Stream of Beauty" is found in the trickling stream on the right. The beauty is simply the land on the right, because nature is valuable, and so is our state that we are currently harming.</p>

<p>For this project I used colored pencils, markers, and water colors. Then I outlined it with a sharpie and fine point pen. My art portrays a girl giving her extra water to a garden. The garden is full of colors and life. The message is that instead of dumping extra water in your sink, you can use it to grow something beautiful, even in a dull and dry atmosphere. I used bright colors for the flowers and birds, and dull colors for the background to show how lively the planter is. I am ten years old and love art.</p>

<p>My art represents protecting the water shed. Clean water gives us the ability to grow healthy foods and vegetables. Protecting our water allows for the growth of humans and animals alike. These are the reasons I used real food and trees in my art prodject. I used lentils for the walk way and chimney, corn husk for the house, salt to represent the snow, I also put the famouse quote "food grows where water flows." I also used water color paint for the snowy mountains and real pine leaves for the trees.</p>

<p>Because its womans History month (It was when I wrote this) I did a drawing to show my appreciation of how much women have helped shape the world while showing and talking about sharing and taking care of earth's water, I made a caption for this art work "Love, Share, and take care of Earth's water."</p>

<p>My artwork was created by using acrylic paints. My artwork portrays Mother nature crying and saving her teardrops, so that the dead plants can grow again. We need to be more conservative about water or life will start withering away. Water is a sign of life and we have to norish that; therefore without water, there cannot be life. Right now California is suffering the loss of water due to climate change which was caused by humanity's actions. Water is the most essential source of life on earth. Let's save water together. The world is in your hands.</p>

<p>My art shows dolphins on it and it shows that it is us and we can build a better earth by helping our water by recycling, cleaning our water.</p>

<p>My name is Hazel [last name omitted]. My piece of art work is representing "not wasting water." When I have excess water in my water bottle, I usually put it into the succulents on our front door. This peice took about four or five hours, and scetched, watercolored, and colored with watercolor pencils by me. This message portrays that we cant waste old water, and insted use it to help plants grow.</p>

<p>I decided to show a drawing of a girl that has the nature in the whole body of how to save water and has fish with water in it. The point is fish, plants, and humans need water to survive. I really liked drawing that because it shows how we can use less water. The best part of saving water is because you still get to see birds, dogs, and more animals to make your day better that is why you should save water!</p>

<p>How to save water by Juquila [last name omitted]. We can save water by using a broom to sweep away dirt instead of using a hose to spray water. Another way to save water is to have the faucet off when you're brushing your teeth. When washing hands, first get them wet, then turn on the faucet. You can save water by drinking from water bottles. The next reason is to take sorter showers and turn off the shower head when using soap. You can turn off the water when you're not using it for washing your hands, brushing your teeth or washing the dishes. Next, is to just water the lawn until it has enough water, but it is not overflowing. The seventh reason is you can get a container and when it rains the water will go inside it and then it can be used for later. My drawing is a picture of a clean river of water.</p>

<p>So the machine gets the water from the dirty lake, the machine cleans it in the pipes, another pipe pours out clean water.</p>
